My Thoughts

Four emotional nights, 827 pages, and a river of tears later, the Lunar Chronicles has come to an end. I came in thinking that it would take me forever to finish a book the size of Winter but now I don't want it to end. At last, the epic conclusion to an epic book series. I think it's safe to say that the Lunar Chronicles is now my favorite YA sci-fi series. It was everything I needed. It was heartwarming, touching, exhilarating, and romantic. Everything that makes a remarkable concluding book! Marissa's writing is really one to remember. She wrote 827 pages and not one moment did I willingly want to put down the book! She does an incredible job at balancing reality and a retelling, not to mention that there are multiple retellings in this book!

Winter, our new character, is a character that you have concerns about the first few times you meet her, but then she blooms into this wonderful person later on. She is so much more than you think! Winter is the most innocent, and adorable person in this book. She is so kind and so caring, and she would never harm a fly. I personally am not a big fan of Snow White, so I didn't expect to like Winter's as much as I actually did. Not to mention that Winter also has the funniest friendship with Scarlet!

All the characters in this book grew so much, and they all became fierce warriors, even Cress! In the last book, Cress was timid and shy, and she was always hiding behind Thorne. In this book, she was such a big help! In a futuristic world where technology makes up almost everything, a skilled hacker was highly useful. Cress and Thorne was such a good pairing. They sometimes try to deny that they like each other which makes them THAT much more adorable together. It was really fun seeing them fall for each other. I mean who wouldn't like Thorne? He's the most charming and silly person ever! He really lightens up the mood of the book and adds the funny factor to a VERY serious story.

In the review I did for "Cress" I mentioned that I did't really like Scarlet and Wolf, just because they seemed distant in the last book. In this book, I found Scarlet especially, bolder than she was in the rest of the books! She was everything I wanted her character to be: brave, fierce, strong, and more passionate than ever! Did also mention that Wolf and Scarlet's relationship is so cute! I've heard some debate over Wolflet that Wolf seems a little too obsessed with Scarlet, but I feel like he's just super protective of her because he doesn't have many people in his life that cares about him and doesn't treat him like a pet.

Out of all the characters, I would say that Cinder grew the most, as a person. She came from a place where everyone criticized her, to a place where everyone needed to be saved by her. I am so incredibly proud of her for standing up what is rightfully her's, and I couldn't ask for a better main character. Cinder's personality is more on the serious side, but she is SO intelligent and skilled. She could literally repair ANYTHING. Cinder and Kai were separated for the most part in this book due to complicated situations, which made me really sad because I really was looking forward to seeing them together but the ending was twice as better as it already was because of that.

The character that went through the most physical change has to be Iko. Iko is an escort droid and she is the most relatable person (or robot) ever. She is VERY dramatic, but in the greatest way ever. Her personality truly makes the book better, in a way, because we have all these serious protagonists and all these villainous antagonists, so a character like Iko really balances everything out.

Overall, this book did not disappoint! It was everything I expected for an epic conclusion, to an amazing series. It had so many twist and turns and it made me go through so many emotions. I found myself laughing at one point and then before I knew it, I had tears in my eyes. I could not ask for better characters, even Levana! I love a good villain that puts up a fight. Although I am SO SO sad that the series officially ended, I could not be happier that it ended in the most heart warming way.
